This is a fantastic opportunity to place our audiences and communities at the heart of the delivery for our transformational National Lottery Heritage Funded (NLHF) Winter Gardens project. The purpose of the role is to work with our partner organisations and our target audiences to deliver the Winter Gardens Activity Plan that sets out all ways in which people will be involved in the Project, as visitors, participants and cocreators. This includes the successful delivery of the main objectives of the Activity Plan which are: To meet the needs of residents through the generation of new jobs, wide ranging and engaging activities, apprenticeship, training and volunteering opportunities; learning and developing skills through a wide range of both formal and informal programmes, workshops and events. To provide local people with opportunities to enjoy, and actively engage with, heritage, horticulture and learning all year round, changing behaviours and creating a legacy of wellbeing, healthy living and global/local environmental awareness. To support and engage volunteers as key supporters of the Winter Gardens, offering accredited and informal opportunities for diverse participants to enjoy, develop skills and learn as they contribute to the project. This role is a fixed term appointment until October 2028. This is a flexible post. Great Yarmouth Borough Council asks that employees work a minimum of 2 days a week from Council offices and no more than 3 days a week working from home. Responsibilities Coordinate with partners to deliver the Winter Gardens Activity Plan in line with NLHF outcomes. Develop and deliver public engagement activities during the construction period and into the first years of opening. Support the delivery of a broad range of events, including creative events, youth engagement activities, cocreation workshops, work placements, and plant science events. Liaise with stakeholders and specialist delivery partners to ensure successful project coordination. Organise regular consultations with the public, stakeholders, and volunteers. Recruit and manage volunteers, providing induction and training. Work with the Marketing and Communication Team to create regular project updates. Provide timely updates to the Project Team and contribute to NLHF reports. Oversee the Activity Plan budget and ensure a safe environment for visitors and volunteers. Qualifications and Experience At least two years of relevant experience in community engagement and/or partnership projects, preferably in culture or heritage fields. Proven ability to develop meaningful partnerships with cultural heritage organizations, third sector bodies, voluntary organisations, and community groups. Experience in delivering activities and events that focus on community connection and cocreation. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills, able to inspire and motivate diverse groups of people. Self-starter with the ability to act on own initiative. Willingness to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check.
