Are you passionate about automation and want to work with some of the most advanced material handling systems in the world? We're looking for an Automation Engineer to join our Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team in Australia!
Why This Role Matters? As an Automation Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of keeping Amazon's logistics network running smoothly. You'll fault find, troubleshoot and improve controls solutions for automated material handling equipment (MHE), mentor team members, and drive innovations that impact customer deliveries daily.
Key job responsibilities
1. Partner with wider RME team to provide a high level of equipment availability to internal customers.
2. Coach and train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding to foster an environment of continuous learning.
3. Collaborate with the AU/EU Controls network to enhance the capability to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics.
4. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
5. Collaborate with IT, EU Controls Engineering and Operations Engineering to maintain system documentation and backup procedures.
6. Collaborate with Global teams to support the installation and commission of new equipment.
7. Support other sites in the AU network as required.
8. Interpret both mechanical and electrical drawings.
9. Improve strategies for code conforming to IEC 61131-3.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Relevant experience with PLC controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.
2. Experience supporting a wide range of different conveyors and sortation systems.
3. Experience in dealing with material handling, flow and capacity visualization and monitoring.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, industrial electronics or another technical subject.
2. Experience working within ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 frameworks.
3. Experience working in a multi-site environment.
4. Project management experience with multiple frameworks such as Agile and Waterfall.
5. Experience of Six Sigma, data analysis or process improvement techniques.
