Tyre Fitter with light mechanical work required Poole up to £28K - £30K Mon - Fri and Saturdays on a Rota MUST HAVE A DRIVING LICENCE A Tyre Fitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of tyres on various types of vehicles. This role requires technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Tyre Installation and Removal: Remove and replace tyres on vehicles, including cars, trucks, and other machinery. Balance wheels to ensure smooth operation and reduce vibrations. Inspection and Diagnosis: Inspect tyres for signs of wear, damage, or irregularities. Diagnose issues related to tyres and rims, and recommend appropriate solutions. Maintenance and Repair: Repair punctures and other minor tyre damage. Check and adjust tyre pressure according to vehicle specifications. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by explaining issues and recommending tyre options. Answer customer inquiries and provide accurate information about tyre maintenance. Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain and operate tyre fitting equipment safely and correctly. Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of work performed, including tyre types, sizes, and vehicle details. Update inventory and order tyres as needed. General Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on tools and equipment. Keep the workshop clean and organized. Qualifications: Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a tyre fitter or in a related automotive role is preferred. Relevant vocational training or certification in tyre fitting is advantageous. Skills and Abilities: Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate tyre fitting and balancing machines. Good manual dexterity and physical stamina. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Personal Attributes: Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if required.
