ABOUT THE ROLE
Northumbria University supports a population of approximately 1000 postgraduate research (PGR) students and their supervisors, from a wide variety of funding sources, including funded studentships. We are looking to recruit a talented individual in a Faculty-aligned role, to work with the Faculty's academic managers (PGR Director and Departmental PGR Leads) to support delivery of research student programmes. The successful person will be able to support a wide range of activities. The candidate will provide direct support and guidance for students and supervisors throughout their programme, ensuring progression is timely and supporting circumstances affecting student progress. They will develop and maintain relationships with other service teams to ensure PGR students can access wider University support. They will be able to work with systems and processes to maintain student and funding records systems and support the provision of relevant internal reports and external statutory returns.

Interviews will be held on 17th January. The role is 18.5 hours per week, with working patterns to be agreed with the successful candidate.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The role is based in the Graduate School, within Research and Innovation Services. The team manages research programmes life-cycle from recruitment, through enrolment, induction, training, progression, examination and award, and associated regulatory and funding arrangements.
Research and Innovation Services deliver a range of professional support for strategy, policy and academic delivery of research and innovation; through a combination of central and Faculty-aligned provision, it supports academic colleagues and postgraduate researchers.

5. Experience of working independently and dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances.
6. Willingness to work at Northumbria campuses and at partner institutions in the region as required.
