1. Assume the role of Facilitator to the Urgent Care teams/staff providing support for continuing clinical and professional development in the work place. 2. Be responsible for the continuing development of evolving competency-based frameworks for Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Associate Nurses monitoring and evaluating its effectiveness. 3. Through this process of work-based competencies, the post holder will provide continuing support to all Bands of clinical staff in their delivery of nursing care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. 4. Through a process of support/supervision enable the UTCs staff/teams to assess, prescribe/develop, implement and evaluate standards/programmes of care, providing advice and support to develop methods to evaluate care delivered where required. 5. Ensure that agreed standards are followed to provide a safe environment for both patients and relatives. 6. Ensure that effective communication exists between themselves, nursing colleagues, medical staff, multidisciplinary teams, patients and/or their relatives, providing specialist advice and support where appropriate. 7. Deliver educational programmes in relation to Clinical Practice and Professional Development to support service delivery. Clinical 1. Ensure nursing care delivery is based on current research and/or best practice. 2. Support and encourage a holistic approach to nursing care delivery. 3. Support staff in identifying and setting standards/quality of nursing care and assist teams in the development or implementation of assessment tools to evaluate the care given. 4. Maintain own clinical credibility by working clinically in practice as well as with individual staff members (as required), in assessing, prescribing, implementing and evaluating care given. 5. Facilitate the implementation of a robust system of Clinical Supervision. 6. Through a process of continual assessment identify development opportunities for staff, and in collaboration with service colleagues, develop programmes to facilitate the identified opportunities through working in the clinical area for 60% of the time. 7. Ensure all staff practice within The Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses and midwives (NMC) and THGPCG values.
