Job overview
We are offering a full time or part time podiatry post and invite you to join our committed podiatry team who work within a highly motivating environment. You will be working in community clinics with the opportunity to develop your skills in complex care or hospital care.
You must have good general clinical skills and experience treating high risk patients and a willingness to progress your skills in these areas. The post holder is required to have clear communication and interpersonal skills as well as enthusiasm for contributing to this service, which benefits from being part of this Integrated Trust.
Our podiatry service has placement rotations for staff within its own specialist teams, such as Rheumatology, MSK and Diabetes / Wound clinics as well as regular sessions on the nail surgery rota. Our team meets for monthly staff meetings and clinical reasoning sessions. There will be a small home visiting caseload.

Main duties of the job
* To work within a team of podiatrists and assistants providing podiatric treatment for those patients who meet the Buckinghamshire Healthcare criteria for NHS treatment. Care will be provided in a variety of settings including Health Centres, GP surgeries, home visits, hospital out-patient clinics and inpatients.
* To assess, diagnose, develop and implement individual care programmes for a variety of high-risk patient groups with specialised care needs. This will include patients with chronic diseases, tissue viability and wound care management.
* To have responsibility and be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of clinical work for patients, delegating as necessary and referring onward only in urgent or exceptional cases.
* To deliver evidence-based podiatry interventions that will contribute to the maintenance of patient mobility and independence.
* To work as an effective member of the Podiatry team without supervision, in lone working situations when required.

Person specification
Education, Qualification and Training
* BSc ( Hons) with Local Anaesthesia Certificate
* Post Graduate certificate or evidence of further training
* Member of the Royal College of Podiatrists
Experience eg Breadth of Occupational experience
* Post graduate experience and competence of assessing and treating a wide range of patients including specialist areas such as foot at risk, biomechanical pathologies, wound care and nail surgery
* Experience of ordering x-rays, swabs and microbiology
* Experience of treating high risk wounds using advanced debridement skills
* Experience of delivering education talks / presentations to groups
Skills, Abilities and knowledge
* Excellent organisational skills and communication skills to manage own caseload and day to day running of clinic
* Excellent IT skills at aid computer entry and email communication
* Flexible approach to be able to work as a team member or autonomously
* Must hold a current driving licence and able to drive as they will be working in more than one site across county.
