Reporting to the Group Head of Environmental and Decommissioning, this role is responsible for managing the daily operations and overseeing projects involving Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM). The position ensures compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies while leading a team of professionals dedicated to the handling, processing, and disposal of NORM-related materials. Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensure operations are delivered in compliance with HSSEQ, regulatory and internal standards.
2. Responsible for overall performance of NORM Solutions - P&L accountability.
3. Deliver service excellence as defined in KPIs.
4. Develop effective customer relationships - act as key account manager for NORM Solutions exclusive accounts.
5. Identify opportunities for growth; to introduce new products and services and cost leadership and cost efficiency savings.
6. Install and review appropriate key performance indicators to measure performance.
7. Maintain strong relationships with relevant regulatory bodies including regulatory reporting and auditing.
8. Provide and communicate clear direction to the team.
9. Provide staff with regular feedback on performance.
10. Report as required on operational activity, people and plant.
11. Ensure job packs are processed ready for invoicing.
12. Fulfilling any other reasonable duties aligned with the position as required by the business.
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
1. Maintains positive work relationships.
2. Proven experience in NORM or radiation operations management.
3. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.
4. Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or considerable experience in environmental science, engineering or a related field.
Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
Current UK driving license.
