Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or established Occupational Therapist to join our friendly team of therapists at Tewkesbury Community Hospital, Abbeyview Ward. You will work with an experienced and friendly multidisciplinary team alongside physiotherapists, nurses, GPs, mental health services and social care. Main duties of the job The purpose built hospital has 20 single ensuite rooms providing sub-acute care, rehabilitation and end of life care to patients. This also includes 10 Community Assessment and Treatment beds that provide sub- acute care and rapid MDT assessment to patients directly admitted from the community. Our aim is to enable people to live as independently as possible and the ethos of the team is rehabilitation with a person-led approach to achieve recovery and return home. Much of the role involves assessment of patients with multiple pathologies, implementing rehabilitation goals and coordinating safe discharges for the patients.
