Learning Support Assistant
Location: Weston-Super-Mare
Start Date: March 2025
Working Hours: 8:20 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Daily Rate: £90 - £110, commensurate with experience
Contract Type: Full-Time, with potential for extension or permanent placement based on performance
About the School:
We are collaborating with an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Weston-Super-Mare. This large mainstream institution boasts a supportive cover team and dedicated teaching staff. The school is committed to continuous improvement, offering ongoing CPD opportunities throughout the year. While the school includes a sixth form, the majority of the timetable for this role will focus on Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 levels.
Role:
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team. This role is open to both recent graduates and experienced professionals. The successful candidate will provide support across various subjects, working closely with teaching staff to enhance the learning experience for all students.
Responsibilities:

Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the class teacher.

Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.

Assist class teachers in preparing lesson materials and resources.

Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary.

Requirements:

A recent graduate with a minimum of a 2:1 degree or higher.

Previous experience working in a UK school setting is advantageous.

Up-to-date safeguarding training completed within the last year (assistance can be provided if needed).
