Digital Services are looking for a dynamic Enterprise Architect and Applications Manager to lead our Architecture and Applications Management team. Working with the other architects, the role will be pivotal in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure IT solutions that align with the university's strategic goals. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of technology projects. With a team of 13 and an application estate of circa 180, you will shape the future application landscape.
Key responsibilities will be:
* Develop and implement an enterprise architecture strategy that aligns with the university's goals and objectives.
* Manage the full lifecycle of applications, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and scalable.
* Lead and mentor a team of 13 direct reports, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the university to understand their needs and translate them into effective technology solutions.
* Oversee the integration of new technologies and systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and data integrity.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including data privacy and security protocols.
* Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies, recommending their adoption where appropriate to enhance the university's capabilities.
The successful candidate must have:
* Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Applications Manager, or in a similar leadership role.
* Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and best practices.
* Experience in managing and mentoring a diverse team of IT professionals.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations in a higher education context.
* Experience of working in Higher Education.
