The Role Islington refuge is part of our pan London provision working with women and their children who have fled domestic abuse. Our Islington refuge provides high quality trauma informed support, crisis intervention and accommodation to women and children. You will be responsible for two refuges across the London borough of Islington and the line management of a small team of specialist workers. This role requires someone with strong leadership skills who is able to manage conflicting priorities in a busy service. You will need to deliver on commissioner targets, maintain close partnerships with stakeholders whilst also ensuring that survivors remain at the heart of service delivery.. Accountabilities Ensure effective implementation of Solace’s Equality and Diversity polices, ensuring awareness and integration with all communities in the Borough. Attend meetings to ensure effective working practice and communication across the wider staff team. The service is compliant with contract requirements, internal service standards, and relevant quality marks. Ensure that any safeguarding concerns identified in the service are dealt with in accordance with Solace safeguarding policy. Reviewing monthly and quarterly management accounts with finance and Head of Service Ensure creative and effective relationships are established with other organisations, particularly where they offer a service to our service users. Identify opportunities for training and development with key partners in our areas of work. Partake in the out of hours, On Call rota at least once every 5 weeks. Knowledge, Experience and Skills Experience of refuge/supported accommodation service provision and resettlement pathways. Experience of working in a regulated environment, managing risk, and following case management procedures to meet the needs of a diverse and vulnerable client group. Experience of multi-agency partnership working. A sound working knowledge of legislation, housing, welfare, and policy relating to domestic and sexual violence. Knowledge of health and safety for accommodation-based services and adult and child safeguarding A sound working knowledge of the practical, emotional, social and economic issues facing women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence. Providing leadership and management within an equalities framework. Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and a range of stakeholders, including commissioners, funders and partners.
