The role
As a Commercial Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As a Commercial Officer, you will be supporting contract management activities to ensure the financial and commercial interests of the Company are optimised. You will support the achievement of financial targets and ensure that contractual obligations and associated risks are adequately dealt with.
Day-to-day, you’ll assist with Contract and Change Management across all phases of the acquisition cycle, including Notices under the Contract(s); KPI assessment, as well as:
1. Attend Risk Reduction meetings; Maintain change management registers; Liaison with Procurement to ensure consistency on terms and conditions flow down and risk mitigation.
2. Assist with approvals through internal governance as required within delegated authority limits.
3. Review of terms and conditions in accordance with Babcock policies.
4. Monitor and interpret weekly and monthly project reports with the customer ensuring all actions are carried out as appropriate and matters are recorded.
5. Commercial lead on low-complexity Contracts or Framework Agreements; internal and customer relationship management; conducting work in accordance with Babcock principles and behaviours.
This role is full time and is a hybrid role with a mixture of working from home and working onsite at Ashton Vale.
Essential experience of the Commercial Advisor:
6. Experience in a commercial role within a company which is a prime contractor in a regulated environment such as, defence, power, oil and gas, utilities, nuclear, construction.
7. Experience of change management, subcontract management and management of contracts from contract award to contract closeout or bidding experience is highly desirable.
8. Commercially astute with an understanding of the procurement process.
9. Good communication, presentation, networking, and negotiation skills.
10. Attention to detail with the ability to identify commercial risks, propose steps to mitigate, and communicate effectively.
11. Professional, positive and supportive approach to both suppliers and customers.
Qualifications for the Commercial Advisor:
12. Minimum A Level qualification

13. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC)security clearance for this role.
