Job Summary:
As the Garage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of garage operations, managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management
o Oversee daily garage activities, ensuring work is completed on time and to quality standards.
o Schedule repair and maintenance tasks, coordinating staff assignments.
o Manage workflow efficiently to reduce wait times and optimize productivity.
o Perform heavy lifting as required during the repair process.
2. Customer Service
o Handle customer inquiries, provide accurate quotes, and explain repair processes.
o Resolve customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction.
o Build relationships with clients, ensuring repeat business and positive reviews.
3. Staff Supervision and Training
o Supervise, train, and support mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
o Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
o Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
4. Inventory and Equipment Management
o Monitor inventory levels of parts, supplies, and tools to ensure availability.
o Coordinate with suppliers for timely and cost-effective parts procurement.
o Ensure all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in good working order.
o Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory of parts.
5. Financial Management
o Monitor budgets, expenses, and profitability, ensuring efficient operations.
o Assist with billing, invoicing, and maintaining financial records.
o Support management in setting service pricing strategies.
6. Quality Control and Compliance
o Implement quality control processes to ensure all work meets industry standards.
o Conduct final inspections on vehicles before delivery to the customer.
o Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
7. Business Development
o Work with management to identify and implement strategies to attract new customers.
o Promote garage services through customer retention programs and local advertising.
o Stay updated on industry trends and services to offer additional value to customers.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in automotive repair or service management is preferred.
* Strong understanding of car repair processes and maintenance needs.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
* Ability to manage inventory, budgets, and financial records.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
