WHAT’S THE ROLE?
As a Production Manager at Steamforged Games, you are responsible for the delivery of products from a game in development to on-shelf launch, a key player for the culture and productivity of the whole team. Through centralised planning and providing links between the various teams, the ideal candidate will be able to balance schedule needs with creative goals, always pushing for quality and innovation while managing both budget and time. You will be part of the game production process from the beginning, working alongside game developers and designers, helping to plan, organise and coordinate the timeline and resources required for your projects, deliver the manufacturing solution and manage the budget and finance according to the overall business plan.
Working within the Steamforged Production Team, reporting to the Operations Director, you will execute the vision and requirements of multiple projects. Requiring many traits, but above all stands self-starting, teamwork, and dedication to on-time delivery of excellence. Co-ordinating the efforts of a virtual team is a big responsibility; the Production Manager needs to be both focused and agile in navigating the complexities of the creative and production cycles.
Key responsibility will be the ownership and communication of a production plan that co-ordinates products from concept through to release. Success will be measured through the ongoing management and communication of the schedule as well as the ultimate delivery of projects within agreed project constraints. The role will include, but not be limited to the following duties.
Job Responsibilities
* Build and maintain a suitable schedule for Steamforged Games products from handover by development team through to delivery.
* Ensure that each product is hitting its quality and “fun” goals while actively managing the schedule and deliverables.
* Facilitate communication across the team; clearly communicate tasks and responsibilities to staff & ensure timely delivery.
* Co-ordinate efforts across a cross-functional team including groups as diverse as: Development, Studio, Marketing, Localisation, Licensing, Legal, and more.
* Manage day-to-day production tasks; draw on experience and excellent work practices to coordinate and orchestrate resources and tasks according to priorities.
* Provide regular status updates to the various Steamforged Games teams.
* Identify potential areas of risk, create/execute mitigation plans before issues happen, and keep the team operating at a high level of productivity.
* Establish and document sustainable processes and tools to drive success.
Skills and Qualifications
With at least 2 years’ experience working in a physical games production environment or being a keen gamer/hobbyist, you must display the following skills and qualifications:
* Exceptional Organisational Skills.
* Strong Communication Skills both with internal teams and external parties, especially with supply chain.
* Successful Experience in managing product life cycles, ideally games or another form of entertainment product, with a focus on miniature games production would be an added bonus.
* Experience working with international manufacturers, have great understanding of production process.
* Experienced in implementing team processes, utilising various tools and platforms, including Monday.com, Google Drive, Microsoft Excel and other software packages where required.
