Finance Manager – Financial Control Intro We have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as a Finance Manager (Financial Control) on a permanent basis based in the Darlington office (hybrid working). The role The Finance Manager will be accountable for managing the delivery of specific deliverables within the Financial Control Centre of Excellence. You will be the manager for those processes, responsible for the delivery of externally audited entity financial statements, regulatory and tax returns within a robust financial controls framework. Key to delivery in this role will be the effective delivery of the financial statements production process, implementing financial control policies and producing financial controls MI, whilst meeting Finance and Business stakeholder requirements. The person The successful candidate will be a qualified Finance Manager, with experience of co-ordinating regulatory and statutory reporting, financial controls policy and month-end close processes ideally within a Financial Services environment. You will have a risk-based mind-set, ensuring oversight of financial control policy, and development of risk and internal control MI reporting. You will identify and encourage an agenda of continuous improvement both in terms of quality and efficiency, across processes and systems, and champion automation where feasible. To succeed in this role, high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet the various deadlines is key. You will have the ability to effectively communicate and build effective relationships with various stakeholders across the business including Finance teams, Finance BPs, and Business stakeholders. We are looking for an individual who is self-directed and can take ownership of tasks, who’s keen to role model a positive can-do attitude and high standards in delivery.
