What it's like to work here
The Lizard is rich in dramatic coastlines and landscapes, which plays an important part in encouraging nature to thrive and access to nature for everyone. You'll welcome and engage our visitors as they camp with Nature and help fundraise for our conservation projects. You’ll be reporting to the Holiday Operation Manager for Cornwall Outdoor, working in a team of up to 6 individuals across the Cornwall sites. Your main location of work will be the Teneriffe Farm Campsite, with potential weekly visits to the Penrose Bunkhouse at Chyvarloe to support changeovers. Wider travel to Highertown Farm Campsite, Lansallos will be required for familiarisation purposes only. These 3 locations will form the communication network which will predominantly involve Webex & Email correspondence to the teams on the ground and in our central office in Heelis, Swindon.
All profits generated at our Holiday sites is contributed to our local trust properties to fund their vital work for conservation and nature in our immediate area. In the Holidays team, alongside our colleagues in the cafes, retail shops & letting department, we generate the essential funding needed by our local ranger teams to protect nature and restore habitats along the Cornish Coastline. Opportunities will be available to meet & work alongside our local colleagues on the peninsula with projects like tree planting & pond excavations. We’re looking for passionate individuals with adaptable attitudes who can flex around the daily challenges of running a busy Cornish campsite, whilst being enthusiastic & welcoming as they connect visitors with our great outdoor wild spaces.
