Job Description Service Manager Salary £29,620.00 Wellington Support are recruiting for a Service Manager. We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for supporting colleagues and the people we support. To directly support the Registered Manager in the delivery of high-quality care to the people we support in line with the Care Quality Commission/CIW regulatory requirements, assisting with the management of the colleague team, being accountable for the effective delivery of all internal processes to ensure the smooth running of the service and deputising for the Registered Manager as appropriate. Key Accountabilities Consistently demonstrate the Company values, leading by example and delivering safe, effective working practices. Responsible for the provision of high-quality person-centred support for all people supported, in line with organisational objectives, regulatory requirements and other statutory bodies. Developing and maintaining effective relationships with Commissioners, internal and external stakeholders and ensuring appropriate, effective, and regular communication. Supporting with the delivery of high-quality referral assessments, ensuring the content is accurate, well written and includes identification and mitigation of risks. Ensuring that support is individually tailored to the person supported enabling them to have opportunities to exert choice and control over their lives. Regular on call requirement for designated services, acting as point of escalation and providing advice on incidents occurring out of hours. Timely and accurate completion of Local Authority Safeguarding alerts, CQC notifications and any other regulatory or internal incident protocols as directed by the Registered Manager. Supporting the Registered Manager with the active management of all colleagues to ensure delivery of high-quality care and support, promoting personal development and reinforcing National Care Group as the Employer of Choice. Direct line management responsibility as directed by the Registered Manager for all assigned colleagues within the services. Supporting the Registered Manager in ensuring safe resourcing levels, training compliance, effective recruitment, and succession planning. Supporting the Registered Manager in maintaining Quality and Compliance in line with internal policy and industry standards for all the people we support and colleagues. Supporting the Registered Manager in ensuring all Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Health & Safety checks. Supporting the Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation i.e., COSHH, RIDDOR, IPC. Supporting the Registered Manager in ensuring accurate completion of all Service Audits including resulting actions as required. Supporting with effective infection prevention & control by: Promoting and maintaining a culture in which infection prevention and control is of the highest importance. Establishing and maintaining infection control standards in the services and to ensure national requirements are met. Deputising as appropriate for the Registered Manager as the infection control named contact for colleagues, people supported, families and visiting professionals. Supporting the team to raise and resolve infection control concerns. Acting as a role model within the scope of their remit. Supporting the Registered Manager in controlling revenues and expenditure in accordance with agreed budgets (control over shift bookings in line with budgets). Active commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of service delivery and fostering this approach amongst colleagues. Active commitment to maintain ongoing CPD including keeping up to date with changes across the Health and Social Care sector. Personal commitment to ensure all training required is completed as it becomes due. Active leadership of colleagues to ensure delivery of high quality care and support, promoting personal development and reinforcing National Care Group as the Employer of Choice, including weekends and night shift working to effectively lead the whole colleague team. Flexibility to undertake any other duties that might be consistent with your role at the request of any Senior Manager. Actively attending onsite for audit and spot checking purposes Ensure, housing related issues seen are reported and logged into the internal systems. Hold and attend colleague meetings. Provide clarity and ‘visuals’ to the Registered Manager and ROM with regards to the status of the services. Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required NVQ or QCF Level 4/5 or equivalent in a Health and Social Care - or commitment to undertake. Level 3 award or above in Leadership and Management – or commitment to undertake. Demonstrable understanding of the principles of high-quality person-centred care and support and non-discriminatory care practice. Demonstrable understanding of the regulatory responsibilities held by the Registered Manager and the law relating to care services. Understanding of systems to maintain confidentiality in relation to customers, staff, and the business. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Experience of building positive working relationships with people who use services and their families, colleagues and other health and social care professionals. Ability to plan and organise workloads effectively. Excellent administrative skills and high levels of computer literacy. Experience of managing an effective staff team including recruitment, training, supporting, and monitoring staff. Ability to maintain clear written and electronic records and to follow statutory reporting procedures. Apply today
