About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at Neos Engineering Recruitment. As a key member of our commercial department, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice on project costs and contributing to our company's continued success.
The Key Responsibilities:
* Producing and assessing tender packages, ensuring that all projects are delivered within budget and to the required quality standards.
* Preparing and agreeing valuations and accounts from interim to final stages, maintaining accurate records throughout the process.
* Managing costs and maximizing project value through effective contract administration and procurement strategies.
* Preparing detailed progress reports and CVRs, keeping stakeholders informed of project developments.
* Handling change management, including identifying and negotiating variations to ensure minimal impact on project timelines and budgets.
* Overseeing contract administration for NEC and JCT forms, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
* Supporting site teams with processes and improvements, promoting a culture of excellence and efficiency across the organization.
* Procuring and managing sub-contractors and suppliers, fostering strong relationships with key partners and suppliers.
* Collaborating with accounts and credit control teams to monitor payments, ensuring timely settlement of invoices and minimizing debt.
* Acting with professionalism and integrity, ensuring client satisfaction and business success.
Key Requirements:
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with a strong understanding of commercial principles and practices.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar commercial role, preferably in the construction or engineering sector.
* Proficiency in measuring, preparing bills of quantities, and estimating costs, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong knowledge of tendering processes and contract forms such as NEC and JCT, with the ability to navigate complex contracts and negotiations.
* Excellent negotiation skills and ability to win work, with a proven track record of securing new business opportunities.
* Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create engaging presentations and reports.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
