Our Employment Services in County Durham, support individuals with a mental health need to achieve their vocational aspirations and goals. Using a person centred approach, we work with the individual to identify and progress towards training, volunteering and employment opportunities. We also support people to retain their current employment by offering information, advice and guidance or working with them and their employer to overcome obstacles. We believe that supporting someone to achieve their vocational aspirations can be a key part to their recovery. Our flexible and dedicated approach support's individuals to develop their existing skills and experience, whilst providing the opportunity to take on new challenges. Working with our service is also a great way to join new activities, get out and about and meet new people, whilst building feelings of confidence, self esteem, self worth and optimism for the future. About the role As a Community Content Volunteer, you will assist in developing and delivering engaging content for our bi-monthly (every 2 months) newsletter that will provide valuable information and important community updates to those accessing our services and other external partners. This role can be adapted to suit your skills and interest level - whether you prefer a straightforward approach using provided templates and branding guidelines, or a more creative approach developing your own designs with input from our marketing team. You will play an essential role in gathering, compiling, and presenting information in a way that is inclusive, visually appealing, and accessible. The newsletter will be produced every 2 months. The time commitment will be discussed and agreed upon but can vary based on the stages of newsletter creation (eg weekly, fortnightly or monthly). About you This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience in administration, digital media, or communications, while contributing positively to the wellbeing of those receiving support from Mental Health Matters Requirements Good IT skills and familiarity with basic design platforms like Canva (not essential, as templates and branding guidelines can be provided). Creativity and an eye for detail Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a range of people. Access to a computer or laptop with an internet connection (as MHM will not be able to provide these) An interest in digital marketing, design or communication would be an advantage, but not essential Basic experience in admin and project coordination would be an advantage, but not essential. Please Note - Due to the nature of the role, our volunteers will need to be over the age of 18 and will be expected to complete an Enhanced DBS check. Interested?
