To facilitate the expansion, we are adding members to our finance team based out of Antrim, Northern Ireland.
About the role
As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of our businesses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining key financial processes & controls, whilst providing financial insights to support the leadership team.
You would be joining us to help grow our amazing group of brands, which will be made possible by the solid financial information you will help provide to the businesses, giving accuracy, visibility, trust & strategic direction to our senior leaders, enabling informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Role Responsibilities:
* Financial Operations: Oversee and maintain all financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank, fixed assets, inventory and general ledger, implementing financial controls as required to ensure group compliance.
* Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
* Stock Control & Analysis: Implement and monitor stock control processes, working with site leaders to provide granular real-time analysis of stock, whilst striving to improve profitability.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare and contribute into the annual budgeting process and develop rolling forecasts to support strategic planning.
* Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including UK & EU VAT, TSS regulations and corporation tax filings.
* Audit & Statutory Accounts: Manage the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
* Financial Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve financial processes and controls, with a focus on automation and efficiency.
* Team Leadership: Lead and develop a small operational finance team, providing mentorship and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
* Systems & Technology: Evaluate and implement financial systems and software to enhance data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and overall efficiency.
* Uphold the company brand and the company values & behaviours.
* Any other ADHOC duties as required by the company.
Candidate Profile:
* ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified with a strong technical accounting background.
* Relevant experience in an eCommerce, retail, or consumer goods environment, with a detailed understanding of stock control.
* Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team, with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
* Demonstrates experience in streamlining financial processes and implementing best practices.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficiency in Excel for financial modelling and analysis, with experience in using financial software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of financial management.
* Hungry, determined and passionate about making an impact and driving results.
* Proactively takes ownership and can prioritise effectively, whilst being flexible to changing demands within a fast-paced business environment.
