Manufacturing Engineer - Manufacturing Automotive - Northamptonshire - £50k

Role: Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: £45k to £50k
Location: Northamptonshire
Working Arrangement: 5 days a week on site 8am- 5pm Monday to Thursday 8-2pm Fridays
Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Optimisation:
* Design, develop, and refine manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain high product quality.
* Conduct root cause analyses to address production issues and implement corrective actions.
* Identify opportunities for process automation and modernisation to support operational objectives.
Production Support:
* Provide technical expertise and guidance to the production team, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to standards.
* Develop work instructions, process documentation, and training materials for manufacturing personnel.
* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in real-time to minimise downtime and maintain schedules.
Quality Assurance & Standards:
* Ensure manufacturing processes comply with industry standards, safety protocols, and quality requirements.
* Collaborate with quality assurance teams to monitor and improve product standards.
* Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:
* Work closely with design, engineering, and procurement teams to optimise product designs for manufacturability.
* Collaborate on new product introductions, ensuring smooth integration into the production environment.
* Partner with supply chain teams to ensure materials meet production needs and quality expectations.
Project Management:
* Lead and participate in projects focused on operational improvements and new process development.
* Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
* Communicate progress and findings to stakeholders at all levels.
Equipment & Technology:
* Oversee the commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.
* Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance production capabilities and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience as a manufacturing engineer or in a similar role within a fast-paced production environment.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and best practices.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Proficiency in CAD software and production management tools is advantageous.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Preferred but Not Essential:
* Experience in automotive, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
* Knowledge of robotics, automation, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
* Understanding of regulatory standards applicable to the industry.
