An Ofsted Good SEN School based in Leicester is looking for Teaching Assistants to join the team. TAs experienced working across Early Years to Year 6 are encouraged to apply.
The school is committed to providing a safe, caring, and engaging environment that ensures all pupils can access high-quality learning opportunities catering to their individual needs and interests.
The school caters for various SEN including Autism, PMLD, MLD, Down's Syndrome, ADHD, and challenging behaviour. The severity of additional needs varies across the school.
This is a bank position but can turn into a FULL-TIME role.
Hours of work: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Responsibilities:
* Providing 1:1 and general classroom support
* Assisting children with daily activities
* Supporting the class teacher to plan and deliver activities
* Creating and organising displays
* Assessing pupil progress and ensuring a safe learning environment
* Working across both KS1 and KS2 phases providing additional support where needed.
* Each class has 10 pupils with 1 Teacher, 2 LSAs, and a fantastic leadership team to provide additional support.
Requirements:
* The ideal candidates will have experience working with various SEN and will have a DBS registered to the update service.
* Experience working with children in a learning environment.
* Experience working with children in schools or other childcare provisions.
* Experience working with vulnerable individuals (children or adults).
* Awareness of children/young persons' development and learning.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with staff, children, young people, and their families and carers.
* Ability to implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policy and procedures.
* Available Monday to Friday and can commit to 8:30 am - 3:30 pm school days.
* Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
Primary and Secondary Trained TAs are encouraged to apply.
