Senior Grounds Person - Parks & Open Spaces
Permanent PositionSalary: £33,000 per annum
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Grounds Person to join our team managing the parks and open spaces within our local area. In this permanent, full-time role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our parks, gardens, and other public green spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the work of grounds operatives and coordinate their activities to ensure efficient and effective maintenance of all assigned areas
2. Develop and implementprehensive maintenance plans to keep parks, playgrounds, sports fields, and other open spaces well-maintained and presentable
3. Operate and maintain various grounds equipment and machinery, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and small vehicles
4. Monitor and address issues related to landscaping, horticulture, arboriculture, and general grounds keeping
5. Liaise with local authorities,munity groups, and other stakeholders to understand and meet their needs
6. Ensurepliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
Requirements:
7. Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior grounds maintenance role
8. Strong knowledge of horticulture, arboriculture, and landscape management
9. Ability to lead and motivate a team of grounds operatives
10. Proficient in the use of grounds keeping machinery and equipment
11. Full, clean driving licence
12. Goodmunication and interpersonal skills
13. Passionate about creating and maintaining high-quality public green spaces
This is a permanent, full-time position working an average of 40 hours per week. Apany vehicle is provided.
