Job Responsibilities:
1. Accountability for your are/allocated category – from product development to delivery
2. Work with merchandising to lead dept strategy in line with seasonal SWOT analysis & lessons learnt
3. Building plan for options/spends at cat level in line with dept forecasts
4. Directing product development to ensure in line with trends & is on brand
5. Understand the target audience thoroughly and consistently curate products that align with our customer base
6. Set and achieve monthly goals for the creation of new styles, demonstrating a proactive approach to product development
7. Make informed decisions regarding product or fabric adjustments to ensure styles meet quality standards and resonate with our customer base
8. Conduct comprehensive research to stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in fabrics, incorporating this knowledge into purchasing decisions
9. Review and approve samples produced by the production team, maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency
10. Provide leadership and guidance to the buying team, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with company objectives
11. Facilitate weekly sales meetings with the team to discuss performance, share insights, and strategize for future success
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, or related field preferred
2. Must have at least 5-10 years of fast fashion vendor buying experience
3. Proven experience in apparel buying, with a focus on understanding customer preferences and market trends
4. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors
5. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed buying decisions
