The Domestic Team at LUFT are a Team that make a difference, we are looking for a passionate, highly motivated Assistant Domestic Manager to join our busy Domestic Services Team at The Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
As Assistant Domestic Manager you will be a key member of the Domestic management team, supporting the audit and compliance of the Domestic Services with day-to-day interface with managers in Estates and Facilities, and the wider Trust. You will need to be able to demonstrate experience of auditing, compliance and coordination of Mandatory Training, have strong people skills to develop partnerships. The post holder will be required to provide specialist knowledge and advice to service users, in regard to The National Standards of Cleaning 2025, COSHH and Infection Prevention & Control procedures, you will need effective IT, written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge and experience of a cleaning service is essential, you will be able to work under pressure with the ability to work as part of a team using your own initiative.
There will be occasional late finishes, and flexibility is required, working Wednesday to Sunday.
Main duties of the job
Liverpool University Hospitals are seeking to recruit an Assistant Domestic Manager for their Royal Liverpool Hospital site.
As the Assistant Domestic Manager you will be responsible for monitoring the service in line with National Standards of Cleaning 2021, Service Level Agreements and Trust Policies within specification and KPI's. This will include Individual and joint monitoring and auditing of the day-to-day service delivery.
To ensure that cleaning is delivered to the National Standards of Cleaning 2021 and The Trust required standards. You will manage a supervisory team and have daily contact with key stakeholders such as infection prevention & control, Matrons and ward managers.
The Assistant Domestic Manager will provide administrative and clerical support to include word processing of correspondence and reports, update and maintenance of spreadsheets. The post holder will be expected to use specific software packages for the monitoring and recording of audits and be able to interrogate such systems as required, update databases and use devices to record observations of the services being monitored or audited.
Cleaning Management experience is an essential element for this role and experience within a healthcare environment would be beneficial.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To allocate tasks and responsibilities to the domestic supervisory team and take the necessary steps to ensure the specified service is provided.
To liaise daily with Ward Managers and be proactive in resolving difficulties in order to build and maintain good working relationships.
Attend meetings as requested with Control of Infection, Matrons and Site management as required to assist in effective communications with both managers and service users.
Carry out regular Supervisor 1-1 meetings to assist in effective two-way communication and to communicate the Trust’s aims and objectives to Supervisors to then cascade to Domestic staff.
Control staffing worked hours, organising workloads fairly and ensuring that labour hours are kept within the master rota.
Ensure Health and Safety compliance including conducting investigations into any accidents and the development and documentation of Risk Assessments.
To ensure that all machinery is safely maintained via the completion of an annual portable appliance test.
Development of local work schedules highlighting and monitoring general working practices and providing comprehensive and easily understood written instructions.
To assist the Domestic services manager with the day to day management of external contracts.
