Technical Sales Manager – Gas Distribution Networks

We are expanding our footprint in the UK’s gas distribution sector by providing cutting-edge sealant solutions to the country’s largest network operators.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Account Management & Sales Growth: Manage and grow relationships with key gas distribution networks in the UK, focusing on selling our range of high-performance sealants.
2. Business Development: Identify new opportunities within the gas sector, targeting specific projects or areas where our sealants can provide solutions in pipeline maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
3. Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and execute a robust sales strategy to meet and exceed revenue targets. Create account-specific plans to enhance Chemence’s presence within these networks.
4. Client Engagement: Engage with decision-makers across the gas distribution networks, including procurement officers, engineers, and operations managers. Deliver presentations, product demonstrations, and technical support to highlight the benefits of Chemence sealants.
5. Industry Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in the gas sector to position Chemence as a thought leader and trusted partner.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the R&D and technical support teams to ensure that customer feedback is incorporated into product development and that technical challenges are addressed promptly.
7. Reporting & Analysis: Track sales performance, manage pipelines, and provide regular reports on market conditions, competitor activities, and customer feedback to senior management.
What You’ll Bring:
1. Industry Experience: Gas Main Repair Knowledge: Experience with products and techniques for repairing cast iron gas mains, particularly around low and medium-pressure systems.
2. Technical Knowledge: A strong engineering background, ideally in mechanical or chemical engineering.
3. Product Support: The candidate will support these products in the field, ensuring correct application and troubleshooting as needed.
4. Relationship Builder: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop lasting relationships with key stakeholders in large organizations.
5. Commercial Acumen: A results-driven mindset, with a passion for meeting and exceeding sales targets, and a strategic approach to identifying new business opportunities.
6. Communication Skills: Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey product benefits and technical data to a variety of audiences.
Qualifications:
1. Engineering/Technical background - preferably degree-level educated
2. Minimum eight years’ sales experience
3. Ability to write product support documents.
4. Willingness to travel extensively within the UK.

7. Self-motivated and able to work independently
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
