Job summary SENIOR FELLOW IN TRAUMA AND ORTHOPAEDICS WITH SPECIAL INTEREST IN REVISION ARTHROPLASY SURGERY. This 12 month post-CCT fellowship post is being funded by money provided when Norwich became the regional Knee Revision Centre. The successful candidate would work predominantly with the revision knee surgeons, however would be encouraged to gain experience in revision hip surgery in this busy unit. A major component of this job will be developing the regional service and running the monthly knee and weekly hip MDT's.Norwich is a busy trauma centre, catering for a population of approximately 650,000 but even larger for open and complex fractures, spinal & pelvic trauma. This post is based at the Norfolk and Norwich university Hospital but may include duties at the Trust's satellite in Cromer. A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. Main duties of the job The appointment is for a one year fellowship to start in July 2025. The post will involve duties mainly at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The elective commitment will be to knee surgery in general, with increased exposure to revision knee surgery, including periprosthetic fractures. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will be already capable of performing primary joint replacements with minimal supervision, and gradually increase operative responsibility in revision surgery over a period of one year. The appointee might be expected to be sharing some operating lists with more junior orthopaedic trainees & sensitivity towards their training needs & indeed participation in their training will be expected. The outpatient commitment will be to new & follow up joint replacement clinics. List & follow up clinic commitments will be coordinated with the ST from each firm. New patient clinics are organized by the fellow to run in parallel with consultant clinics.
