This is how the firm nurtures the brightest and best lawyers. The Role The firm's highly experienced Employment team is seeking a Solicitor or Associate to join its Bristol office. In this role, the candidate will: Provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of employment law issues, including employment status, contracts, redundancy, discrimination, and associated rights. Offer sensitive and commercial HR support to clients and in-house HR teams on managing grievances, performance issues, sickness absences, and disciplinaries. Conduct legal research and analysis to support client cases and offer strategic advice. Manage Employment Tribunal claims from ACAS Early Conciliations through to Appeal Hearings and Cost Applications. Represent clients in Employment Tribunals, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings. Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients, supporting corporate deals, working with commercial teams to help clients expand, and assisting with disputes in injunctions and defamation. Stay up to date with employment law changes, including case law developments, and provide updates to the team and clients. Work with the Professional Support Lawyer and Paralegals to update policies, contracts, and templates. Actively participate in business development initiatives, including attending client events, strengthening relationships, and facilitating referrer connections. Why This Team? Be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales or Scotland with 1-6 years of post-qualification experience in employment law. Possess in-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation, case law, and best practices. Experience with the differences in employment law between England, Wales, and Scotland is desirable but not essential. Have a proven track record in handling complex employment law matters, including settlement negotiations and Employment Tribunal cases, and achieving favorable outcomes. Experience advocating in tribunals is a plus. Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and partner organizations. Show meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
