We are a values-led organisation that encourages everyone to be open and honest. Our collaborative culture and belief in the empowerment of the individual means opportunities at Asda are abundant.
Our 2025 Logistics Degree Apprenticeship Programme has been developed in partnership with depot managers for the logistics leaders of tomorrow. This opportunity offers apprentices at ASDA on-the-job experience across Warehousing and Warehousing Management, and knowledge of wider departments like Human Resources, Finance, and Health & Safety.
The degree apprenticeship scheme is designed to support our core operation. You will be based in one of ASDA’s warehouse depots local to your residence, learning the operation from the ground up.
On our 4-year programme, you'll complete a series of placements in our warehouses, progressing at pace and taking on more accountability each year.
You'll study for a Level 6 apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University, combining real management experience with online learning modules, lectures, and face-to-face tuition. We will cover your costs and ensure you have time off to study.
For the first 6 months, you will work as a warehouse colleague, familiarising yourself with operations before stepping up to a department manager role.
As a department manager, you will lead a team of 10-25 colleagues, motivating them to deliver the best standards across the department.
By the end of the programme, you will work towards becoming a Shift Manager, leading a team of 5-8 department managers.
Depot managers share characteristics that make a difference: tenacity, hard work, determination, empathy, and care. They are motivated by problem-solving and keeping their colleagues engaged.
If you are ambitious and hardworking, the Logistics Degree Apprenticeship Programme will guide and support you every step of the way.
What you will need:
This is a 24/7 operation, requiring shift work as follows: 4am – 1pm or 5am - 2pm, 4 days one week and 5 days the next. Shift and weekend working is a requirement of the role, and flexibility with your work pattern is necessary.
Due to the shift patterns, it is recommended that you hold a UK driving licence and have your own transport.
Recently gained or predicted a minimum of 112 UCAS points.
A minimum Level 4 in Maths and English GCSEs.
Right to work within the UK and residency in the UK, British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies for at least the previous three years before the start of the CIMA Apprenticeship.
We are passionate about creating a diverse and inclusive workforce, representative of the communities we serve.
If you are successful at each stage of the application process, you will progress to the next, which includes:
* A short, blended personality and numerical assessment
* Three quick video interview questions
* A half-day assessment centre where you will meet the team and learn more about the programme.
