What you will do:
1. Manage a specific caseload of children in care, ensuring all statutory requirements are completed efficiently and effectively.
2. Conduct statutory home visits and produce detailed written reports within specified timescales.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with local authority and legislative requirements.
4. Prepare for and attend court hearings, providing relevant evidence as needed.
5. Build strong and professional relationships with children, young people, their families, and multi-agency teams.
6. Participate actively in regular supervision and contribute positively to team meetings.
7. Work collaboratively with key professionals such as schools, health services, and carers to secure the best outcomes for children in care.
8. Demonstrate excellent English communication skills in both written and spoken formats.
Person Specification:
1. Qualified and registered Social Worker with Social Work England.
2. Experience in a children and families setting, preferably within a Looked After Children (LAC) team.
3. In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
4. Experience in court work is highly desirable.
5. Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
6. Exceptional communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
7. Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
8. Commitment to promoting the welfare and rights of children and young people.
