We need an ambitious technical and ambitious person to join us a Security Analystin our Technology Service at Lambeth Council.

About the Role:
We need an experienced Security Analyst to join our team in Brixton.
You will know your technology and understand the difference between Infrastructure and Information Governance. Your role will be to give the right support on cyber security from an infrastructure perspective. Your role will be vita to our team as they carry out our multi – service cloud migration to AWS, Azure and Oracle.

Day to day
The Security Analyst sits in our Technology Business Unit that operates to Design, Deliver, Run and Maintain the technology solutions and services required for the Council to process business and deliver services to the residents of Lambeth.
1. The Security Analyst will engage with the Elected Members, Directors, business directorates and services to provide them with guidance on security strategy and policy.
2. You will identify risks, ensure standards are adopted and adhered to help users maintain compliance to security standards.
3. Vulnerability Management – gain and act in vulnerability intelligence.
4. Secure our complex information systems - carry out security risk assessments, business impact analysis, put in place controls and processes, gain accreditation for the system.
5. Keep on top of trends and innovations to support the team to deliver a business advantage through technology.
6. SEIM – Security Information and Event Management - monitoring and investigating security events and recommending appropriate control improvements to prevent recurrence and restore the appropriate levels of protection. Coordinate the development and deployment of countermeasures.
7. Development of information security policy, standards, and guidelines to ensure systems and data are afforded the appropriate levels of protection.
8. Accountable for performing regular security, risk / vulnerability assessments, and business impact analysis for systems to ensure correct security, continuity security, recovery controls are maintained, improvements are identified and acted upon and accredited standards are maintained
9. Responsible for security, continuity, and recovery assurance of design for new and changing technologies and services to ensure that vulnerabilities are not introduced because of innovation and change to ensuring the provision of continuing secure business environment.
10. Responsible for the duties and accountabilities of the Technical Policy Assurance Officer in their absence to ensure efficient management and continuity of an effective Risk and Assurance service in support of Lambeth business operations.
11. Responsible for ensuring working practices are within designated Cyber Security Framework, for example Cyber Essentials & PSN.
12. Responsible for ensuring that suppliers of third-party services meet the risk, compliance, security, and continuity requirements of Lambeth. Where needed recommending, supervising, and assuring corrective action as required to maintain a safe and secure operating environment for Lambeth business operations
To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence:
13. An experienced Security Analyst who has operated for the technology function in a technical analysis role for large complex organisation.
14. Infrastructure knowledge of Configuration and management of Firewall, Intrusion Detection Systems, Internal Vulnerability Scanners, and Intrusion Protection Systems.
15. Knowledge of creating new alert rules and logic to detect events of interest in SIEM solutions.
16. Be a SME for other departments for Cyber Security queries, relating to security objectives, requirements, and testing.
17. Excellent knowledge of security and continuity standards including ISO, Cyber Security Essentials Plus. GDPR and the HMG Security Policy Framework.
18. Have knowledge of threat intelligence, threat landscaping and threat prevention
19. Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
20. Strong stakeholder management skills
21. Hold a recognised security qualification such as CISSP, CCSP, SSCP, CEH, CHFI, ECSA or equivalent qualification.
