Base Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £52,285 - £60,730 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

We are offering a great chance for two Control Engineers to become part of our team in Portsmouth!
The position requires providing support for the continuous operation of Southern Electric Power Distribution's electricity network, ensuring it runs safely, efficiently, and effectively.
Other roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Work with the Control Team to analyse the network and identify necessary interventions.
* Follow SSEN rules to promote a positive Safety, Health, and Environment culture and find improvement opportunities.
* Ensure safe removal of equipment from service according to safety rules and procedures.
* Communicate with staff inside and outside the control room for safe network operation.
* Report all supply interruptions accurately, whether planned or unplanned, as per regulations.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
* An understanding of the electricity distribution network and technical knowledge in related markets.
* Hold an HNC or similar qualification in electrical engineering or have relevant experience.
* Excellent communication, decision-making skills, and ability to solve complex problems under pressure.
* Be a committed team player with a passion to succeed and proven delivery record.
Once authorised as a Control Engineer, you will be required to join the Distribution Control Standby Rota.
To fulfil your standby commitments, you will need to live within approx. 45 minutes of the Network Management Centre.
Candidates for this role will be required to obtain vetting to SC level through UK Government. The criteria normally includes 5 years UK residency.
