Job Details: Young Persons Substance Misuse Interventions Worker

We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
This post is for a Young Persons worker to work within the Young Peoples County Durham Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service. The service delivers psychosocial interventions (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, family support, specialist harm reduction, and relapse prevention to address drug and alcohol use and associated issues for young people resident in County Durham. You will be joining a dedicated and dynamic team who believe in innovation and developing the service in line with the needs of young people.
Main Duties involve:
1. To perform a Recovery Worker role to deliver interventions (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, family support, specialist harm reduction, and relapse prevention to address drug and alcohol use and associated issues for young people in County Durham.
2. To promote health improvements and contribute to the reduction of risk-taking behaviour of the young people engaging with the service.
3. Provide support in a variety of settings for young people including in the home, schools and community settings.
4. Liaise and work in partnership with other agencies and organisations including LAC, Children and Young People Services, Youth Offending Teams, Family Intervention Team, One Point Hubs and children’s services. To establish and work within existing networks, attending relevant meetings for young people and to represent the service.

Salary Range: 24,020-30,790
DBS Requirement: Enhanced Adult/Child Barred
