Location: New Milton, Hampshire
Pay: £1000 per week
Shifts: Ongoing
Contract: Zero Hours, access to a range of complex care packages

What You'll Bring:
* Managing Autonomic Dysreflexia including:
o Blood pressure monitoring and emergency response
o Administration of Nifedipine PRN
* Respiratory support:
o Use of flutter valve, nebuliser, and cough assist machine
o Recognising signs of respiratory distress
* Bowel management:
o Manual evacuation (1-2 times/day)
o Management of chronic constipation
* Catheter care:
o Managing suprapubic catheter blockages
o Administering emergency antibiotics if needed
* Feeding support:
o Supervising meals due to choking risk
o Supporting fluid intake (6-7L/day)
* Mobility and hoisting:
o Use of hoist or banana board for transfers
o Frequent repositioning (hourly) to manage pressure risk
* Skin care:
o Management of Baclofen pump site
o Prevention of pressure ulcers with specialist mattress and dressings
* Medication management:
o Administering pain relief and regular PRN medication
o Baclofen pump oversight and patch use
* Emergency response to altered consciousness or AD triggers (3-4 times weekly)
Our client is a mature male who has a spinal cord injury at C5 level and requires day-to-day support monitoring.
* Carer must have specialist training in:
o Spinal cord injury care
o Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD) management
o Suprapubic catheter care
o Bowel management and manual evacuation
o Respiratory and airway support
