The L& D Officer is responsible for the effective delivery and overall Learning and Development strategy for the business. Operating as part of and reporting into the wider HR and Recruitment function. You will succeed by delivering training and development across a range of colleagues, taking charge of creating and implementing the learning and development strategy. There is an L&D Assistant to support the L&D Officer. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping people to learn and grow. Your responsibilities would include: Development and implementation of the company’s Learning and Development Strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the business. Create, design, deliver developmental training requirements for new and existing colleagues, with an emphasis on effective evaluation methods. Ensure colleagues have access to the relevant skills training they need to perform in their role, as well as constantly reviewing and improving the training they require, and the tools they need. Implement various learning methods companywide (e.g., coaching, job-shadowing, online training) in line with development plans. Working with external training providers who deliver management development training, Mental Health training etc Take charge of the training intranet portal, ensuring content is used well and find suitable courses to expand upon those currently available. Keep up to date with current thinking on best practice training and methods. Answer training related queries while providing effective solutions to ensure a high-quality service across the business. Maintain accurate records of Learning and Development activities and produce reports where required. Experience you need for the role Proven experience as a Learning and Development Officer. Experience in producing and implementing Learning and Development strategies appropriate to employer. Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods. Experience of training in a classroom environment is essential. The right candidate should also be equally comfortable presenting to large audiences, on a one-to-one basis, and through a variety of media outlets. Ability to plan for projects and training courses, while managing stakeholder expectations. Must be customer-focused with a proactive, flexible attitude. Logical and calm, with the ability to inspire confidence and credibility. Must have excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with an impeccable level of attention to detail.
