SMART Repair / On Wheels Paint Technician required to join a leading luxury department based in Ryton on Dunsmore on an ongoing contract paying £26.94 - £28.26 per hour (PAYE).

They are currently seeking to recruit an experienced SMART Repair / On Wheels Paint Technician to join their team. These roles are offered on an ongoing, rolling contract basis with possible long-term opportunities or even permanent opportunities for the right candidates.
Working on bespoke, personalised vehicles which require paint to high specification finishes, the SMART Repair / On Wheels Paint Technicians day-to-day duties will focus on quality, precision, and skill completing panel preparation, masking, on-wheel paint rectification, blow-ins, and smart repairs to high standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SMART REPAIR / ON WHEELS PAINT TECHNICIAN:
* ‘On wheels’ whole vehicle paint rectification
* Carrying out paint inspection on new vehicles
* Paint rectification
* Spray painting using various spraying techniques
* Blending of paint
* Blow-ins and smart repairs
* Experience of working with a variety of paints including:
o Solid and two-pack paints
o Metallic paints
o Pearlescent paints
o Matte finishes
o Special paints
* Minor dent repair
* De-nibbing
* Mopping
* Polishing
THE IDEAL On Wheels Paint / Prep Technician:
* At least City and Guilds or NVQ Level 1 & 2 in a relevant discipline; Level 3 is highly desired, however, time-served will be considered.
* Experience of working with prototype and high-end cars is desirable.
* Flexible attitude towards working hours as shifts and overtime will be required.
* Flexible attitude towards location as travel between sites may be required.
* Knowledge and practical understanding of H&S, C.O.S.H, and environmental procedures.
* FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE REQUIRED (6 points maximum).
Working hours: 36 hours per week
3 Shift rotation – Applicants must be available to work across all 3 shift patterns.
Earlies: 6am – 1.30pm (Monday to Thursday) & 6am – 12pm (Friday)
Lates: 1.30pm – 9pm (Monday to Thursday) & 12pm – 6pm (Friday)
Nights: 9pm – 6am (Monday – Thursday)
Pay Rates:
Earlies & Lates: £26.94 per hour uplifted to £32.33 per hour to be paid via Umbrella PAYE
Nights: £28.26 per hour uplifted to £33.91 per hour to be paid via Umbrella PAYE
Please note: These positions are deemed Inside of IR35. The final pay rate offered will be inclusive of Assignment rate, Holiday Pay, and Apex Recruitment's contribution towards the costs of a Payroll Administrator.
