Join our Team at Wheatfield Primary School (BS32) as a part-time School Business Manager!

Salary: Grade 7, £33,945 - £36,648 FTE (Actual Salary Based on Hours and Weeks Worked: £12,028.95 - £12,986.80 per annum)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 14.5 per week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), term time only to include INSET days plus an additional 10 days in the school holidays (41 weeks)
Job-Share: This is a job-share position, where you will work closely with another employee to fulfil a full-time role.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and dedicated School Business Manager (SBM) to join our vibrant school community. This is a challenging but extremely rewarding role requiring professionalism, reliability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while being able to interact positively with all members of our busy, yet friendly, school community. As an SBM, you will be a pivotal member of our team, working in close partnership with the Headteacher to steer the strategic direction of the school. Your role will encompass:
1. Financial Management: Overseeing the school’s budget, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing regular financial reports to the Headteacher and Head of Business Operations.
2. Administration and HR: Managing administrative processes and HR functions, including staff recruitment, development, issuing contracts of employment and maintaining HR records.
3. Estate Management: Ensuring the school premises are well-maintained, secure, and compliant with Health and Safety standards.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Experience & Qualifications: NVQ Level 4 or an equivalent relevant qualification with a financial focus. Substantial post-qualification experience in financial administrative work at a supervisory level, including experience with budget control or associated financial duties. A Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM) or Diploma in School Business Management (DSBM) is desirable.
2. Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with your job-share partner and the wider team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
3. Experienced: Proven track record in managing budgets, financial planning, and reporting. Knowledge in procurement, contract management, and building maintenance is desirable.
4. Skilled: Excellent leadership abilities. A strategic thinker and effective communicator who can adapt to a dynamic school environment.
5. Knowledgeable: Sound understanding of safeguarding practices, GDPR, and Health and Safety policies.
6. Committed: Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality. Able to positively engage with our friendly school community.
Fluency Duty:
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with pupils, parents and other users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
