Polytec are looking for a Planning Manager to oversee material flow, lead on the introduction of new systems and to coach, mentor and lead a team.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop standard work for key processes and ensure teams across all shifts are trained and working safely.
2. Support a continuous flow of materials from Stores through Production to Inspection and Shipping.
3. Conduct regular audits.
4. Actively carry out Root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives following PDCA or lean principles, ensuring team development and training is incorporated.
5. Ensure onsite production scheduling support is provided and manage the team rota to ensure fair workload distribution.
6. Keep risk assessments current and updated.
7. Motivate team members and perform regular appraisals or 1-to-1 meetings.
8. Conduct return to work interviews and disciplinary actions.
Requirements:
1. Previous Planning, Inventory Controller, or Supply Chain experience.
2. Positive approach to continuous improvement activities.
3. Flexible approach to working and willing to change hours as needed to ensure onsite production scheduling support.
4. Excellent attention to detail.
5. Good communication skills with the ability to train, mentor and present new ideas.
6. Computer literate and able to use ERP systems (eg. AX 2012 or D365).
7. Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 2012 would be beneficial.
