Compensation: Salary- £30,200 Shift allowance- £5,716

About The Role
As a VTS Operator working within our Forth and Tay Navigation Service at the Port of Grangemouth, your key responsibilities will include supporting the Duty Assistant Harbour Master in the operation of the Vessel Traffic System to ensure the safety and efficiency of all shipping movements.
This is a shore-based operation with working hours which allows for long periods of rostered time off between shift cycles as well as a competitive salary. You will work a 12-hour shift system covering 24 hours/365 days per year.
The team are also open to considering candidates who would like to work on a part-time basis, so please indicate this during the application.
What are we looking for?
* Ideally you will hold an Officer of the Watch certificate however we would consider candidates with demonstrated marine experience.
* A thorough knowledge of port related marine matters and you should also be familiar with marine operations on the Forth and Tay Estuaries.
* Knowledge of the Port Marine Safety Code, Pilotage and Towage operations is also desirable
* You need to have excellent communication, IT and planning skills and a good appreciation of the health and safety standards within a port environment.
* Possession of a C-103 Certificate would be advantageous. However, as VTS Operators must attain this qualification, any training you require to achieve this will be arranged for you.
* A full UK driving licence.

Desired Criteria
