A Surrey-based family is seeking a part-time housekeeper cook to help maintain their home and prepare meals. The role involves all general housekeeping duties, such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, and deep cleaning the bathroom and kitchen. Laundry, including handling delicates, is also part of the responsibilities. In addition to keeping the home tidy, the housekeeper will be expected to cook meals for the family, ensuring that the kitchen is well-organised and stocked. The ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, taking the initiative to keep both the home and kitchen running smoothly.
Working hours: Monday to Friday/Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 or 5:00 pm, 30 to 35 hours per week
Duties include:
Dealing with grocery shopping and maintaining receipts
Placing orders for kitchen and utility supplies and also lamps for house lighting
Keeping kitchen pots, pans and work surfaces clean and in good condition
Ensuring the refrigerator is clean and out-of-date items discarded
Tidying and cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas
Organising window cleaners
Some washing and ironing of laundry & hand washing delicate items (though much goes to laundry and dry cleaners who collect)
Answering door
Keeping patios, pathways and steps clean and tidy
Watering household plants
Dealing with tradesmen, suppliers and contractors when a client gives instructions to
Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Clearing away, tidying and cleaning the kitchen and rooms where food is eaten
Presenting menus for approval and discussing dietary requirements with the client
