Main Function of the Job:
To work as a trained multi-skilled member within the support services team to include Laundry, Catering and Housekeeping. Training will be provided.
Shifts: 7am – 7pm or 8am – 8pm
Main Duties and Tasks
Laundry Department
* Ensure that the resident’s bedding and clothing is laundered to the standards required to include washing, drying and ironing duties.
Catering Department
* Preparation and cooking of meals.
* Stock ordering.
* Ensure hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
* Maintain up to date working knowledge of all kitchen duties.
* Record food/equipment temperatures.
Housekeeping
* To undertake household/cleaning duties as required, for example, cleaning bathrooms, hoovering, dusting, carpet shampooing, waste disposal and general tidying.
* Ensure all duties are carried out to provide a safe environment for all.
* Use cleaning materials and equipment in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
General Responsibilities
* Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
* Complete all paperwork accurately adhering to company guidelines and legislation requirements.
* Communicate regularly with the Line Manager.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures as laid down by the company.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines.
* Ensure the confidentiality of residents, colleagues and the company at all times.
* Work as part of a team and be able to communicate with residents and staff as required.
* Provide a quality service at all times.
Whilst the above is an outline of the duties you will be required to carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.

Essential Criteria:
* Minimum of 1 years laundry experience in work or a voluntary setting or, a minimum of 1 years kitchen experience to include basic food preparation, temperature control.
* Cleaning experience at least within own home.
* Interest in elderly care.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience working within a Nursing Home or similar environment.
* Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
* Cleaning experience in a work environment.

Aughnacloy House is a purpose-built nursing home in the centre of Lurgan. All rooms are en-suite and there are beautiful gardens and outdoor areas for residents to enjoy.
