* Full UK driving licence essential.
Are you looking for a fulfilling and rewarding role where you can truly make a difference? Do you have the compassion to support people with learning disabilities, autism, behaviours of distress, and those with complex health needs? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
We are currently seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our team in a cozy bungalow that’s home to three elderly gentlemen. This is more than just a job; it's a chance to build meaningful relationships and support them in living their best lives.
Job Role:
You’ll be supporting three gentlemen aged 60-75, each with their own interests. They enjoy a peaceful life surrounded by a big garden, a fishpond, and a cat, so you must be comfortable with animals as they are an integral part of the household.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Support Worker, your role will be to assist the gentlemen with their daily routines while ensuring they lead fulfilling lives. Here’s what you can expect:
* The gentlemen love to stay active and explore new things. From outings to the London Eye and theme parks to enjoying car boot sales, charity shops, and local walks, you’ll support them in staying engaged and happy. One of the gentlemen loves tools, ABBA, and Disney, while another enjoys documentaries and bird watching.
* Two of the gentlemen require full support with personal care, while one gentleman is completely independent. You’ll need to assist with tasks such as bathing, dressing, and ensuring their comfort throughout the day.
* You’ll help with mobility, including the use of a mobile hoist and wheelchair assistance for outings. While one gentleman uses a walker, the others may need support with getting around, especially during their favourite local walks.
* You’ll also need to support them with meal preparation, including managing a gluten-free diet for one of the gentlemen.
* You’ll be responsible for administering oral medications and one inhaler, ensuring that all their health needs are met.
Shift Patterns:
* We offer various shift patterns, including 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM, and shorter shifts every other weekend. Flexibility is key, and we’re open to discussing the hours that best suit you.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone patient and understanding, particularly with supporting one of the gentlemen who experiences anxiety and repetitive behaviours. A love for routine and a calm demeanour will help you succeed in this role.
