Salary: Up to £56,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Main Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Assistant Editor (Journalism & Digital Growth), you will be an editorial leader in charge of the daily running of the social desk and with line management responsibility of both social media & video journalists.
* You will be a strong, creative leader with a vision for social media content and short form video across the website and social platforms.
* You will implement a data-driven strategy to grow audiences in these areas, reacting to industry developments and in collaboration with other BBC teams.
* You will have a test and learn approach. You will encourage best practice with regular feedback to direct reports.
Are you the right candidate?
The successful candidate must have:
* First class Sport News judgement, including editorial compliance of multi-platform content based on substantial sport journalism experience.
* A demonstrable potential for leading a team with authority and inspiring high quality output & creativity.
* Strong experience of social media curation, short form video commissioning and data-led decision making.
* You will be a great team worker, sharing best practices between teams, with excellent communication skills.
* You will have direct experience of issues affecting diverse communities in Sport.
* An in-depth knowledge and passion for Wales and Welsh Sport which can be applied with a strategic approach.
