This is an ideal role if you’ve had previous experience in the creative arts, youth work, care or hospital work, or if you are a student within the arts, psychology/sociology.
We are looking for SEN Learning Mentors to support a SEN primary and secondary school for students with complex, low incidence special educational needs. You will have the chance to go permanent, and some LSA staff are also given the chance to train to become qualified teachers.
Your Role:
* Giving students help to access learning and succeed in school.
* Adapting main classwork to suit student learning ability and needs.
* Contributing to record-keeping by recording observations of pupils during the school day.
* Communicating your knowledge and understanding of students to other school staff.
* Keeping engagement in learning in a fun and creative way.
* Encouraging and praising positive behaviour.
* Able to communicate efficiently and professionally between colleagues and students’ parent/carer(s).
* Running interventions to help support students and their additional needs.

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 – Monday to Friday (part-time available).
