Our apprenticeship scheme provides students with the knowledge and training they need to pursue a career in engineering. At Progressive Technology, the first year of the apprenticeship will be spent in our purpose-built training academy, with full support provided by our Apprentice Training Manager and fulltime Apprentice Trainers.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* You will learn basic machining and hand fitting skills, progressing onto basic CNC machining through a series of supervised machining tasks, you will manufacture number of engineering tools and components.
* In your first year, you will work on a variety of machines in the training academy including:
Centre Lathes
Vertical Milling Machines
Surface Grinding
CNC Lathe
CNC 3-Axis & 5-Axis Milling Machines
CAD / CAM Training
* In addition to the hands-on machining training listed above, you will also receive monthly academic classroom-based training.
