Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) A specialised college in Coventry is seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This rewarding role involves working closely with students who have complex learning difficulties, including Autism, physical disabilities, and multiple learning challenges, helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering tailored SEN support to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Supporting daily activities in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborating with teachers and other staff to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) effectively.
- Managing challenging behaviours with positive reinforcement strategies and creating a calm learning environment.
- Promoting student independence and self-confidence through targeted skill-building activities.
- Acting as a role model to inspire students and support their personal development.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience working with individuals with special educational needs (SEN), particularly Autism, SEMH, and physical disabilities.
- A passion for supporting students with diverse needs and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to addressing challenges and meeting students' needs.
- Up-to-date safeguarding training and an understanding of current child protection policies.
