Job Summary
The Urgent Care CSU is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, innovative, and experienced registered nurse who has a background and passion for nurse education and who has demonstrable experience in delivering this to staff.
The individual must possess excellent organisational skills and be able to work well under pressure. The applicant must be able to demonstrate their commitment to developing our services within Emergency Medicine and Acute Medicine and staff, improving the patient experience whilst providing evidence of clinical teaching and be enthusiastic in their role of support and motivation. The job holder will play a lead role in ensuring the development of clinical staff both registered and unregistered. The job holder will enable the development of clinical practice mentors, assessors, and key trainers, providing supervision through on-site support and Trust wide continuous professional development activities. The post holder will be responsible for leading clinical education and associated resources in their designated clinical areas. The successful candidate will provide a high standard of education.
Main duties of the job
The job holder will support the assessment of the quality of clinical and other practices. They will enhance the quality-of-care delivery from both the registered and unregistered workforce. The post holder may be line managing a junior clinical educator depending on the clinical service unit.
Job Responsibilities
The job holder will lead the nursing contribution to service development, ensuring the pursuit of excellence in care. The job holder will lead on the implementation and monitoring of adherence to relevant clinical guidelines, audit, and research. They will function as a role model for registered and unregistered staff within the clinical area and Trust, enabling and supporting the development of interdisciplinary and cross-city working to ensure the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required
Qualification
* Registered Nurse (RN Adult for adult clinical areas or RN Child for children's areas) or Operating Department Practitioner
* Relevant teaching and assessing qualification (essential)
* Degree level education in Nursing or evidence of working at that level
* Masters degree or post graduate level development equivalent to a masters
Experience
* Significant and recent relevant clinical experience.
* Significant post registration experience in a junior leadership role e.g. Band 6 or equivalent
* Experience of clinical audit and standard setting
* Working with a wide range of professionals including medical, nursing and management colleagues
* Evidence of service development and or facilitation of change management
* Budgetary management experience (desirable)
* Understanding of performance management strategies
* Significant experience within a leadership position

* Competent in organising own workload and that of others.

* Can evidence excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Able to use word processing applications & current digital systems
