Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Community Adaptations
Location: Leeds
Rate: Up to £38 per hour
An exciting opportunity has recently become available for an Occupational Therapist to join the Community Adaptations team in Leeds.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will assess the needs of adults in the community who require equipment and adaptations to support their independence and enable them to remain at home. You will conduct detailed assessments, develop and implement personalized treatment plans, and identify and recommend suitable equipment and adaptations to meet individual needs. You will collaborate with other agencies, such as Housing, NHS, and voluntary organizations, to achieve the best outcomes for service users. Additionally, you will ensure that completed adaptations meet the assessed needs, provide advice to service users and their families, and stay informed about developments in the Occupational Therapy equipment field. Maintaining your professional development and portfolio to meet Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration requirements is also a key aspect of the role.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To excel in this role, you must hold a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You should have proven experience in adult occupational therapy, particularly in community settings, along with expertise in assessing for equipment and adaptations. Strong skills in identifying and managing the needs of adults are essential, as well as excellent organizational and prioritization abilities. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT). A valid driving license with access to a vehicle is required, and you must be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.
