We are looking for an exceptional Principal Civil Engineer to join our newly formed multi-disciplinary Water Team. You'll play a crucial role in delivering a wide range of wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
We're seeking someone with a fresh perspective who collaborates to address business, environmental, and regulatory challenges for our clients.
What You'll Do
As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will produce technical designs, specifications, and reports for a variety of projects-ranging from small to large in size, type, and complexity-both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You will be involved in projects from inception through to completion, including:
* Supporting the Project Manager/Water Sector Director to define project briefs (deliverables, milestones, methodology, etc.)
* Managing Civil & Structural design delivery across projects in single or multi-discipline teams
* Leading key design elements and verifying outputs (e.g., calculations, drawings, sketches, reports) to ensure the best solution is achieved
* Assessing and communicating design changes to the Project Manager
* Taking ownership of work requirements and ensuring delivery meets time, cost, and quality goals
* Attending "close-out meetings" and recommending improvements to policies, processes, and project management methods through our Perfect Delivery platform
As a member of the new Water Team, you will also contribute to business development, including preparing capability statements, submitting pre-qualification questionnaires, expressions of interest, and tenders, while building strong relationships with new and existing clients to drive growth and secure repeat business.
Requirements
* Significant experience working on wastewater infrastructure and/or non-infrastructure projects across the UK
* Strong industry knowledge and a passion for advancing your engineering career
* Experience managing wastewater and/or water schemes
* Proficiency with industry design software
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player with a positive attitude in client and team interactions
* Experience mentoring and supervising a team
* Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a relevant subject
* Ideally, an Incorporated or Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution (e.g., ICE, CIWEM)
