We are looking to appoint enthusiastic Clerical Assistants to provide admin and clerical support to clinical staff who are based in clinics and services across Newcastle. We are looking for reliable, flexible and motivated individuals to support the team.
Post 1: full or part time providing support to Community Nursing, working within the Single Point of Access team based at Regent Point, Gosforth.
The admin staff within the above service will work between 8am and 10pm on a rota basis including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Post 2: Full time post working within the 0-19 Service across various sites in Newcastle. Actual working hours post to be discussed at interview.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work alongside other clerical staff to evaluate and prioritise workload in a busy environment. They will provide a high standard of admin support to clinical staff, handling telephone calls, using electronic health record SystmOne, and receiving requests from patients, carers, service users, and professionals.
Job responsibilities
* To provide a high standard of support to Clinical staff handling telephone calls.
* To use an electronic referral process (SystmOne) to ensure requests are responded to in a professional, confidential, and efficient manner.
* To receive requests from patients and carers, acute hospitals, GP practices, Social Services, and health care agencies.
* To communicate directly with members of the public and other services.
* To abide by Trust policies and procedures.
* To be an effective part of the team contributing to the departmental objectives.
* Post holder will be expected to contribute to housekeeping and other office duties as required e.g. general tidiness, pre-determined stock levels are met and equipment is clean and stored correctly.
Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month's pay.
